Maintaining an optimal EC value is essential for ensuring robust plant growth. Excessive soluble salt concentration can lead to osmotic pressure, displacing water from the root zone, resulting in browning or wilting of the root tips. Fluctuations in soil moisture can exacerbate these issues, causing root damage, hindering nutrient and water uptake, and leading to symptoms like leaf curling, yellowing, tissue necrosis, or stunted plant growth. Elevated EC values can also increase the risk of root diseases caused by pathogens like root rot.

Soil salinity is categorized into several levels, each reflecting different degrees of salt content:

  • Mild Salinity Soil (EC: 1.0-2.0 mS/cm)
  • Moderate Salinity Soil (EC: 2.0-4.0 mS/cm)
  • Severe Salinity Soil (EC: 4.0-6.0 mS/cm)
  • High Salinity Soil (EC: >6.0 mS/cm)
Key Features:
  • Swift Results: Get fast and precise EC readings for informed gardening decisions.
  • User-Friendly: Easy to use, no complex equipment needed.
  • Moisture Measurement: Assess soil moisture, another vital factor in plant health.
  • Stable and Reliable: Consistent, dependable readings for maintaining optimal soil conditions.

Instructions:

  • Dampen or dry soil for accurate measurements.
  • Clean the metal plate before using the device. If it's a new device, you may need to insert it into the soil multiple times to remove the protective oil layer on the metal plate.
  • Slowly insert it into the soil and wait for 5 minutes for accurate results. Variations in soil density, moisture, and excessive fertilization can affect readings, so perform measurements in different locations for an average value.
  • Wipe the probe clean after use.

Notes:

  • Avoid leaving metal parts in soil for long periods.
  • Store with clean, dry metal surfaces.
  • Gently insert the device into the soil.
  • Keep away from magnetic objects.
  • Not for liquid testing.
  • Avoid greasy or static-charged fingers.
